5 Best Sneakers For Men Under $250 in 2017
3. Adidas Superstar Sneaker for Men
When it comes to history, this one has some story to tell. First introduced in 1969, the Superstar was initially endorsed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the legendary Lakers center. Reportedly, within a couple of years of this endorsement, nearly 80% of the NBA was running around on the courts in them.
However, this fame belittled by what happened a decade later. Run DMC, a famous Hip-Hop band, unofficially endorsed it. It then became a cult-wear.The major talking point of the product, as it stands today (see what I did there?) is its unique combo of an all-leather upper body with rubber shell protection at the front.
Traditionally not designed for any sport, this one has seen quite a bit of success in the NBA, because of the protective front.
Adidas recently released the Superstar II. This one came with a few improvements such as a thick tongue, extra padding, soft inner lining, extra heel cushion, and an innovative herringbone traction pattern on the rubber outsole. These made it adapt to the NBA in particular.
Features
- All-leather upper body.
- Rubber shell.
- Flat build.
My favorite bit is the classic brand-defining lines on either side of the shoes. Just can’t get enough of them, even for a price of $200.
The Good
- Adaptive flat insole.
The bad
- Can’t think of any.
